I have several broken sliders on my futon which need to be replaced. I am looking for a source where I can purchase new ones. I ordered some from Rockler which were too long as were the clevis pins they shipped. I need some about 1 7/8" long. My clevis pins are about 7/8" long. My futon is identical to "The Basic Bi-fold with Arms" assembly instruction appearing on Futon Life.

Hi JaePerk,

The problem is that different manufactures use different hardware. I have seen no less than a dozen different ones over the years. Try bringing a peice into a local futon store to see if they can match it up with something they have.

Hi JaePerk:

You can make these parts from wood or nylon stock. Just use the existing part as a model.

You can also find a woodworker or carpenter who may be able to help you make them, or make them for you, at a bulletin board at Home Depot or Lowes.
