Mayor Laffey Defeats Closest Opponent 2 to 1
With a margin of victory of more than 2 to 1 Steve Laffey continues to lead his city forward for a second term as Mayor.
After soundly defeating a union backed opponent in the primary, Laffey campaigned hard right through Election Day leaving no stone unturned or doorbell unrung in his determined run for a second term.
Soundly defeating his two opponents, a slow starting democrat and an independent ( who very few voters went ape for), Laffey was also instrumental in helping unseat special interest poster child Frank Montanaro Jr. by backing and supporting the new District 15 Representative elect Jim Davey.
"The people of Cranston deserve only the best and I intend to be the man who keeps his promises by finishing the job I started two years ago," Laffey said.
"My sincere thanks to all the hard working candidates who campaigned with me, and the hundreds of volunteers who toiled all summer and autumn long walking and talking to thousands of voter/taxpayers in Cranston.
